The Indigo Press is an independent publishing house established in 2018, focusing on feminism, internationalism, and social justice. Our books, fiction, non-fiction, and essays, have been shortlisted and longlisted for prizes including the Orwell Prize, the Desmond Elliott Prize, the Somerset Maugham Award, and the Polari Prize. They have been widely covered by national and international press, broadcast media, and social media. We have sold rights in many languages and have distributed our own editions internationally.
We are expanding our list and are looking for an experienced, part-time, three days per week, permanent, in-house publicist to join the staff team, alongside our founder/editor, managing editor, and marketing manager. We expect candidates to show evidence that they have devised and implemented successful, persuasive publicity campaigns and that they have direct links into the worlds of broadcast and broadsheet media, events, festivals, and other appropriate connections.
The role can be based remotely, although we would expect the successful candidate to come to London at least once per month for meetings in person with colleagues and key contacts, and to join our weekly team meetings (in central London) either in person or via video link.
We offer a gross salary of £32,000 per annum pro rata, and four weeks’ leave per annum plus statutory public holidays (all leave to be calculated pro rata). Working days are seven hours, which can be flexible.
To apply: please send a short covering letter, a CV, and an example of a campaign to honor@theindigopress.com.
We will only contact shortlisted candidates, so apologies if you don’t hear back from us by the end of September – this means your application is unsuccessful this time.
