Job summary Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, friendly, and flexible individual to join the Blood Transfusion Department as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. You must have a keen interest in science and healthcare and be prepared to learn. The successful applicant will play a key role in the Blood Transfusion team, processing specimens and supporting the Biomedical Scientists to ensure safe, effective, and efficient transfusion testing and blood component provision. The main qualities required for this role include excellent attention to detail, concentration, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Training can be provided to those who have not previously worked in a clinical laboratory, although experience in a Blood Transfusion Laboratory is desirable.
