Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Three UK plants have a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint, and final assembly.
As an IT Infrastructure Apprentice, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of IT services and solutions within the organization. You will work closely with the IT infrastructure team to bridge the gap between users and technology, reinventing the digital world of the future.
Key Responsibilities
* Business Analysis and Solution Development: Assist in analysing business requirements, identifying pain points, and proposing technology-driven solutions to meet the organization's objectives.
* Network Infrastructure Management: Support the maintenance and optimization of the network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN connectivity.
* Supplier Management: Contribute to the management of IT suppliers, including steering, budget, and KPI management.
* User Support and Training: Provide strategic guidance and training to internal and external clients on the effective utilization of digital and technology solutions.
* Process Improvement: Facilitate changes to business processes, organizational structure, and efficiency through the enhancement of digital and technology solutions.
* Customer Experience Design: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of innovative customer experiences using the latest technologies to drive business growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade B or Grade 6 (or above), including Maths and English.
* A minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) in a Technology, Business or Science at grade C (or above) or a BTEC level 3 (60 credits plus) or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Technology discipline.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and translate business requirements into technology solutions.
* Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies.
* Basic understanding of supplier management, including budget and KPI tracking.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
* Enrolment in or completion of a relevant IT or engineering degree program.
* Enthusiasm for technology and a desire to contribute to the organization's digital transformation.

The next stage is a Video Interview. You can complete this at any time of day during your five-day invitation window and you will be recorded answering a set of questions. The first question is just for you to get used to recording yourself and is not assessed. Following completion of the Video Interview, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited to a face-to-face Assessment Centre with BMW Group. Provisionally, the Assessment Centre is due to take place week commencing 10th March 2025.
