Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and progressive thinking Finance Team, working for a major player in the home improvements industry with a turnover of circa £15m.
Location: Lenwade, Norwich
Reports to: Financial Controller
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 full time equivalent.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the companys credit control processes, ensuring that customer accounts are paid on time, helping to maintain the companys cash flow and overall financial health.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Credit Control Management:
Working with the Managing Director to review and assess customer creditworthiness with the aim of setting appropriate credit limits.
Monitoring and managing customer accounts, ensuring payments are made according to the agreed terms and conditions.
Preparation and dissemination of statements and reminders to customers regarding overdue payments.
Formation of strong relationships with customers and maintaining regular contact to chase overdue accounts to arrange payment.
Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve any customer queries, issues, or disputes that may affect payment.
Ledger Reconciliation:
Maintenance of accurate records of customer payments and outstanding balances.
Timely and accurate allocation of customer payments, chasing customer remittance advice where necessary.
Management Information:
Preparation and dissemination of regular reporting on overdue accounts and aged debtor analysis.
Provision of monthly credit control reports to management, highlighting potential financial risks.
Process Improvement:
Implementation of improvements to credit control procedures to increase efficiency.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance or accounts receivable role.
Strong knowledge of credit control processes, accounts receivable, and debt collection techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and customers.
Excellent organisational skills and high levels of attention to detail.
High levels of initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse financial data.
IT literacy including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of working with accounting software.
Desirable:
Experience of Sage Line 50 accounting package
Experience within the home improvements or construction industries.
