Electrical Design Engineer – Environment
Location – Plymouth
Key Accountabilities:
1. Provide technical compliance and quality on design outputs.
2. Assist project team in seeking optimal solutions/efficient designs that balance capital and operational cost benefits.
3. Adhere to procedural governance.
4. Work as part of the Design team to ensure scheme designs adhere to client specifications and standards.
5. Ensure full compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
6. Technical problem solving throughout the project life cycle, from concept design to final construction support, including risk and opportunity management.
7. Assist with pre-contract design activities where required.
8. Work towards accreditation with professional bodies (e.g., ICE, IET, IMechE, IChemE).
About you:
1. Proficient with AMTECH, AutoCAD/Draftsight, and generating electrical installation packs.
2. Skilled in developing control philosophies, URS, FDS documents, LV earthing schematic.
3. Knowledge of G 2382-18 BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations & NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificates.
4. Degree in Engineering or equivalent; Chartered or member of a professional body preferred.
5. Experience in contracting/consulting environment with commercial awareness.
6. Strong communication, stakeholder management, IT skills, and leadership qualities.
7. Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and flexible attitude.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on delivering results.
