Main Responsibilities
1. Ensure that all aspects of the Bed and Transport Bureau/ Discharge Suite/ Phlebotomy team are supported to a high standard, and systems and processes are in place to streamline flow effectively.
2. Accountable for analysing current performance and devising, developing, and implementing changes in practice that deliver sustainable improvements in service.
3. Provide leadership to the Bed and Transport Bureau/ Discharge Suite/ Phlebotomy team.
4. Monitor, assess and report on performance within defined service areas, highlighting any issues to the Site Resource Manager/ Clinical Matrons and identifying appropriate action.
5. Ensure all staff adhere to the Trust policy and procedures.
6. Maintain effective communication within the services and keep staff up to date with relevant team and organisational Key Performance Indicators.
7. Record and monitor sickness absence and take appropriate action in accordance with policy.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Ensure attendance and compliance from the Bed and Transport Bureau/ Discharge Suite/ Phlebotomy team on all mandatory training.
2. Ensure the efficient use of staff within budgetary constraints and identify areas of cost improvement.
3. Liaise closely with the Site Resource Manager/ Clinical Matrons and allocated HR advisor regarding any line management, performance, attendance and conduct issues, and deal in line with Trust policy.
4. Attend Clinical Delivery Group meetings ensuring that notes are taken and disseminated in a timely manner.
5. Review new ways of working to meet service needs and provide a flexible workforce to meet the changing demands of service.
6. Take forward service modernisation objectives in relation to the Patient Flow Team, including redesigning processes/ policies to incorporate new models of working.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* GCSE in Maths and English (A-C/4-9) or Functional Skills (level 2).
* Knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures and systems.
* Leadership and Development programme.
Knowledge and Skills
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Access, Outlook, Word.
* Computer literate.
* Be prepared to work independently.
Experience
* Previous budget holder or knowledge of financial management.
* NHS experience or healthcare setting.
