We are looking for a candidate with clinical experience to join the Haematology Research Team at Colchester Hospital site.
You will be expected to support a number of haematology studies but be flexible enough to meet the needs of the wider research team.
You must be a highly motivated team player with a can-do attitude, who is able to manage their own workload efficiently. You must be willing to take ownership and deliver your work, have an eye for detail, and a desire to deliver high-quality patient-centred care.
Ideally, you will have cancer and/or research experience; however, the successful applicant will receive a local research induction and will be fully supported and trained to develop in the post.
The Research and Development department at ESNEFT hosts a variety of studies such as the NIHR portfolio, locally developed (ESNEFT) & commercial research. The research ranges from simple observational studies to interventional clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs). This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team.
As a research nurse/practitioner, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing research participants and, along with other members of the multi-disciplinary research teams, managing their care pathway. You will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect clinical care within your own caseload, working collaboratively with members of the wider team and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research (GCP).
The role requires an in-depth knowledge of clinical trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with local, national, and international research law and regulations to ensure the safe and effective running of research studies, under the principles of your professional body and principles of good practice in the management and conduct of health and social care research under the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics, and in patients’ own homes.
We pride ourselves on supporting our staff. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, as well as flexible working options. Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals, we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata), and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offers a variety of services.
If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we want to hear from you.
