Our client is a well-established and leading multidisciplinary construction company based in Liverpool, seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. Our client specializes in new-build projects and interior retail fit-outs.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing aspects of the commercial and financial elements of new build and interior fit out projects. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, to the highest standards and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender & Contract Documentation: Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
Cost Control & Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and cost control to ensure projects remain within budget.
Contractual Advice: Provide expert advice on contractual claims and disputes.
Project Monitoring & Forecasting: Monitor and forecast project costs and budget forecasts, ensuring financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and fair pricing.
Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess work progress and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to stakeholders, providing updates on costs, risks, and project status.
Estimating/Price Tenders: Estimate and price tenders for both new-build and interior fit-out projects.
Sub-Contract Valuations: Carry out sub-contract valuations to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Placing Orders: Manage the placement of orders with suppliers and subcontractors.
General QS Duties: Handle client changes, variations, and review drawings to ensure that projects remain on track and within scope.Requirements:
Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, particularly in the retail and new build sectors.
Strong understanding of construction processes and cost management.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills and ability to manage relations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
