NES Fircroft are partnering with a global engineering company who have an office in Sheffield who are looking for an EHS Advisor to work with them on a permanent basis. Our client operates in the UK and on customer construction/office/workshop sites overseas and has circa 300 employees. The role covers multiple EHS topic areas and works with key stakeholders from all levels across the business. The role requires a practical approach to environmental health & safety topics and a basic understanding of UK statutory regulations and standards. The role will ensure that our engineering & technological projects and workshop production are executed in compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety regulations, minimising risks and ensuring the well-being of our employees, contractors, and the public. The role requires flexibility and a dynamic approach acting both in an advisory capacity and a reactive capacity supporting key operational tasks. These include risk assessments and safe systems of work, travelling to undertake inspections on our construction sites overseas and UK, assisting the UK workshops, organising EHS audits and inspections, and monitoring and reviewing the EHS plans in place. Main Tasks and Responsibilities Maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems To lead and influence behaviours to change existing culture and move towards a behavioural EH&S system and sustainable business model Provision of and monitoring of EHS risks, strategy and plans to ensure the necessary action is taken to meet the outlined requirements To conduct internal audits and to lead and participate in external audits Carry out and review specific task risk assessments Investigate accidents and incidents Creation and delivery of toolbox talks Monitoring of UK EHS legislation Completion of practical training and toolbox talks Required Skills and Experience A Level, HNC level, time served or practical equivalent NEBOSH Construction Certificate or working towards Diploma Practical experience in Environmental and Health and Safety Ability to influence and engage with stakeholders Strong communication and IT Skills Experience of working with capital and preferably turnkey projects CDM Experience Understanding of COMAH regulations Auditing Experience Experience of management systems Product safety experience desirable Benefits include Flexible and hybrid working Bespoke personal development plans Support with further education and qualifications (where relevant) Annual Chartership fees covered The chance to work, contribute and develop within a global leader in their market.
