Are you a dedicated and motivated Children’s nurse who is committed to providing high quality care? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children’s nurse to undertake the role of a Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse on our Paediatric Assessment Unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the senior sister in the leadership of PAU, support established nursing staff in the delivery of high quality patient care, and provide education and support to junior members of the team.
Responsibilities include:
1. Liaising with key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users.
2. Delivering a high standard of individualised care for all patients.
3. Planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
4. Managing complex clinical situations and providing guidance to junior staff.
5. Supporting the Senior Sister/Matron to monitor safety and quality of care.
Person specification
Qualifications
* RSCN or RN (Child) – duel qualification would be advantageous
* EPALS / APLS
Experience
* Significant Paediatric Nursing experience at band 5.
Skills
* Good understanding of professional responsibilities and patient experience initiatives.
* An understanding of children’s health issues and the current agenda for children’s services.
