Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a Local Authority within the home counties to source an Assistant Director of Housing on a 6 month interim period. The position is full time and has hybrid working with two days presence required on site.
The successful candidate will deliver a high quality housing operational service ensuring that these services are delivered within the Council's framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control and legislative, regulatory and compliance requirements.
Provide management and oversight of: tenancy management & leaseholder services, tenancy sustainment services, supported housing services, homeless prevention services, accommodation services, cleaning services, housing needs & allocations, private sector housing and community safety and ASB.
The range of duties which are covered include:
* Deliver an intelligence driven and customer focused approach to the development of the service ensuring that the needs of current tenants and leaseholders and future customers
* Full participate in the development and ongoing review of the Business Plan for HRA service ensuring timely data and details regarding housing management resources are available and kept up to date
* Be responsible for the effective running of the housing operations services ensuring that expenditure within the HRA is compliant and aligned to financial and procurement requirements and regulations
* Provide input into an effective Resident Engagement Strategy which places customers as the focus
* Ensure a high quality, proactive, cross tenure housing options services is delivered to residents
* Ensure that the council complies with all necessary statutory requirements in relation to part VII Homelessness legislation, which includes having an up to date and lawful preventing homelessness and rough sleeping strategy
* Oversee the delivery of a combined community safety and ASB service which encompasses safeguarding, domestic abuse, hate crime, crime prevention, counter terrorism and CCTV
Experience and skills required:
* Proven track record in successfully managing front line operational teams associated to housing management, temporary accommodation, homelessness and community safety
* Homelessness and TA experience is essential for the position
* Evidence of working with strategic and local partners to deliver outcomes and improvement for the wider community
* Proven track record of delivering service improvements and annual performance targets and objectives
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of both local and national agendas on the housing services associated with to the role
