Description
The starting salary for this role is £59,686 per annum for working 36 hours per week.
Due to internal development, we have an exciting opportunity to join our residential leadership team as the Resource Manager for our two children's homes located in Guildford.

About Us
Surrey County Council is currently the 7th largest Local Authority (LA) provider of in-house children's homes and is set to become the largest LA residential provider of homes based on our ambitious additional £30 million capital investment.
Our main 4-bed home in Guildford provides specialist care and support for children and young people who are experiencing emotional/mental health difficulties. The second home is a short-term placement linked to the main children's home, providing specialist care and support for children and young people who require a solo placement due to their needs.
About the Role
Your strong leadership abilities, passion, and motivation for running your home will shine through to your team, children, and young people. You will have a practical understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework, using your previous experience as a Registered Manager to manage your home safely and effectively.
Your approach will be strength-based, individualised, and trauma-informed, underpinned by effective assessment and risk management skills. You will work collaboratively with your team to create a homely and caring environment that supports children and young people to achieve positive outcomes through creative engagement and activities.
Building trust with the team and the children will be key to this role, from direct work with children to supervision with your team and regular feedback sessions.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position your CV and answers to the questions below will clearly evidence:
* A track record of managing Good and Outstanding homes
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
* In-depth knowledge of delivering statutory childcare services with at least 2 years' experience within children's residential care
* Proven leadership and managerial skills in a social care or health setting
* Ability to build and maintain positive relationships built on trust in sometimes challenging situations
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work
