Title: Managing Consultant - Airworthiness & Technical Services Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 Closing date: 5th December 2024 - however we encourage early applications. Frazer-Nash provides Airworthiness and Technical Support services to the UK Military Air Environment (MAE) and we are looking for an experienced managing consultant to lead the development and technical delivery of key projects. In addition, the successful candidate will provide engineering expertise to our large team of multi-discipline aerospace engineers across a variety of fixed-wing, rotary-wing and crewed and uncrewed air systems. Our Systems Integration team aims to support our clients in providing the UK with airworthy, safe, sustainable military capability through the application of a systems engineering approach to engineering technical services in the aerospace domain across the MoD. Our clients look for support in initial type certification and type airworthiness, continuing airworthiness and technical delivery of projects. This would suit an engineer with previous experience working within Defence Equipment & Support, Project Teams, Delivery Teams or Front-Line delivery of platforms or equipment. This senior role represents an opportunity to join an expanding team and lead technical delivery and coordination on projects across the aerospace spectrum within defence. You will develop a portfolio of project deliveries, hone your consultancy skills and help develop more junior engineers and graduates. As part of Frazer-Nash Consultancy you may also have opportunities to work outside aerospace or gain civil experience to widen your skillset further. Essential Requirements Have senior engineering leadership experience Have sound engineering experience across multiple disciplines Experience in leading on engineering delivery across multiple senior stakeholders and be able to lead a team of consultants to coordinate and execute the technical delivery. To support these responsibilities, we are looking for an individual with a strong aerospace engineering background who: Is a practitioner in Type or continuing airworthiness Has experience of leading engineering teams as either a senior engineering officer or civilian equivalent Attained Chartered Engineer status or be eligible to apply for it Has demonstrable technical experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment, in the aerospace industry, including: Certification requirements and compliance; Requirements management; Safety and assurance; Design office Test and acceptance. Desirable Requirements Holds a degree in a relevant engineering discipline Experience working within a Delivery Team or Defence Equipment & Support Frontline Engineering Experience on a Squadron or similar direct aircraft support engineering organisation Civil Experience in certification, CAMO or similar disciplines Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
