BMS Supervisor£500 - £600 per dayImmediate startReporting To:Project Manager / MEP ManagerJob Purpose:The BMS Supervisor will oversee and manage all aspects of the Building Management System (BMS) implementation, ensuring that the system meets the functional, operational, and technical requirements of a high-specification data center. The role involves coordinating installation, testing, and commissioning activities, managing a team of technicians, and liaising with other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the BMS within the overall facility infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:Project SupervisionSupervise the installation, configuration, and commissioning of the Building Management System (BMS) on-site.Ensure all work is performed in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and IT teams to ensure system integration.Technical OversightReview and validate system designs, drawings, and technical documentation.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.Oversee system performance testing and ensure all BMS functionalities meet operational requirements.Team ManagementLead and manage a team of BMS technicians and subcontractors.Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines.Provide training and support to team members on BMS tools and systems.Stakeholder CommunicationAct as the main point of contact for BMS-related queries from clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.Prepare and present progress reports, highlighting milestones and addressing any concerns.Collaborate with commissioning managers and third-party vendors to ensure seamless delivery.Quality AssurancePerform inspections and ensure quality control measures are in place for BMS components and installations.Verify compliance with commissioning standards, including documentation and certifications.Post-Completion SupportOversee the handover process, including the preparation of O&M manuals and system documentation.Provide initial system support and training for the client’s operational team.Key Skills and Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.Relevant technical certifications in BMS systems (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, Trend).Experience:Minimum 5 years of experience in BMS supervision, preferably in a data center or mission-critical environment.Proven track record in managing installation and commissioning of complex BMS systems.Technical Skills:In-depth knowledge of BMS hardware, software, and integration protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).Familiarity with data center operations, cooling systems, and energy efficiency optimization.Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and control logic diagrams.Soft Skills:Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Effective communication and stakeholder management.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Key Deliverables:Successful installation and commissioning of the BMS system.Comprehensive documentation, including test plans, commissioning reports, and handover packs.Operational BMS system integrated seamlessly with other building services.Package:Competitive salary (Insert Range)Performance-related bonusHealth and wellness benefitsOpportunities for professional development and training
