We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Film, Media and English to join St. Francis' College. You will join an excellent team and be responsible for teaching Film Studies at A Level, Media at GCSE and English up to GCSE as a minimum, helping our pupils to achieve their individual potential and to work as part of a team to help achieve the overall aims of the College.
Set in the midst of Letchworth Garden City, St. Francis' College has been providing a first-class education for girls for over 85 years, blending traditional values and a modern vision.
St. Francis’ College is recognised for its outstanding academic results, pastoral support and the extensive range of extracurricular activities available for students.
English, Media and Film Studies are all very popular subjects at the College. In the English curriculum we aim to instil the following values: a love of literature, an understanding of self, of other people and of society; an appreciation of the use of language, according to purpose and context and the development of critical capacities and self-confidence. Students at GCSE follow the Pearson course, at A Level pupils follow the Edexcel course.
Media and Film are both popular option subjects, at GCSE pupils study OCR Media and at A Level the OCR Film Studies course.
