Mash Direct is an award winning quality product and a leading household brand, The business is now recruiting for a : SENIOR BUYER We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Buyer ideally from a food manufacturing environment to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and logistics with a proven ability to manage to budget and establish excellent supplier relationships. This role requires expertise in managing stocktakes, scheduling, forecasting and managing compliance with food safety and technical standards. Responsibilities Manage weekly stocktakes and safe storage of all packaging and labelling Order, stocktake and safe storage of food ingredients and dairy products Monitor pricing, negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions. Manage supplier queries and establish effective working relationships Monitor and forecasting stock levels Research& identifying new products and suppliers Ensure suppliers deliver to order and on time Making recommendations for improvements Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide timely solutions. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data within the relevant systems. Coordinate logistics for the timely delivery of goods, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Conduct regular reviews of inventory levels and forecast future demand to optimise stock management. Ensure compliance with food safety standards Qualifications Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably within the food or agri food industry Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics management. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favourable outcomes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams. A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within a fast-paced environment. Relevant qualifications in procurement or supply chain management would be advantageous.
