Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join a leading team delivering complex infrastructure projects. To be considered, you must have a strong background in Civil Engineering.
Role Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will oversee high-value, fast-paced, or technically complex project delivery. This role involves managing multiple workstreams and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and clients.
You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring, control, and closure, ensuring that targets, timelines, and budgets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring clear communication of short-term plans with the team.
2. Administer and approve contract programmes, including Cl31, Cl32, CE, and Cl14 documents.
3. Ensure the project is resourced effectively, including staff, operatives, and supply chain partners.
4. Oversee contract compliance and ensure all project documentation is correctly managed.
5. Implement and enforce health, safety, and quality standards, ensuring adherence to safe systems of work.
6. Actively manage third-party stakeholders and coordinate project interfaces.
7. Promote and support behavioural safety initiatives and hazard observation reporting.
8. Ensure quality management procedures, including ITPs, check sheets, and NCRs, are implemented.
9. Develop internal and external project controls and ensure KPI reporting compliance.
10. Manage project risks, opportunities, and cost/value tracking.
11. Lead monthly progress reviews and financial reporting, presenting key insights to senior management.
12. Provide guidance and mentorship to the project team, fostering professional growth.
13. Support pre-construction and bid management efforts, contributing to business development.
14. Uphold professional integrity and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Required Experience & Knowledge:
1. Extensive construction knowledge, including methodologies and productivity insights.
2. Proven experience in managing large-scale projects within the civil engineering sector.
3. Background in temporary works and multi-disciplinary team leadership.
4. Ability to train, mentor, and develop project teams.
5. Experience presenting detailed reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
1. HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. CSCS certification.
3. CITB 5-Day Site Safety Supervisor certification.
Skills:
1. Strong IT skills and proficiency in project management tools.
