Do you want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners? Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant role for SEN School in the Trafford area. This role requires a compassionate and adaptable individual with experience in Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and speech and language delays. You will work closely with students, tailoring lessons and resources to cater to a variety of learning styles and needs, ensuring each child feels supported and encouraged. Key Responsibilities: Adapt lesson plans to suit various abilities and learning styles, ensuring each student is engaged Manage behaviour effectively, using consistent routines to provide stability for students. Work on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and across the classroom, adapting your approach as needed. Support speech and language development. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate and deliver high-quality support for students. Encourage positive behaviour and a constructive learning environment within both the classroom and school setting. Experience Previous experience working with children who have special educational needs. Experience supporting students with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, PDA, and speech and language delays. DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one. Have an empathetic, and nurturing approach to pupils. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team. Be adaptable, remain calm in challenging situations, and respond to the needs of the pupils. A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies. Qualifications in education, special educational needs, counselling, or psychology are not essential.
