Grade: P4
Location: Leeds/Manchester
Business Area: CAPTG Product
Department Context:
Cox Automotive Europe is leading the digital transformation of the automotive industry,
empowering dealers, OEMs, and buyers with cutting-edge tools that redefine how vehicles
are managed, traded, and optimized. Our pan-European programme includes a
groundbreaking Decision Engine, an AI-driven platform that turns complex data into
actionable insights, enabling smarter decisions across inventory, pricing, and supply chains.
Join us to shape the future of automotive intelligence.
Scope of Role:
As Product Manager for our data products, you’ll own the vision, strategy, and execution of
our AI-powered decisioning platform and how our customers consume the data via other
channels as well. You’ll bridge technical innovation (ML models, real-time analytics) with
business impact, ensuring dealers, OEMs, and buyers can predict trends, mitigate risks, and
act decisively in a fast-moving market. This role demands equal parts data fluency,
stakeholder diplomacy, and product craftsmanship to deliver a platform that becomes the
brain of Europe’s automotive ecosystem.
You will support the Product Leader to execute the product strategy, act as the liaison
between customers, business users, and the product owner, and support the implementation
of key outcomes by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
Within the organisation, you’ll work with multiple stakeholders across the wider international
business as well as Sales, Operations, Customer Support, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and
Senior Business Leaders.
You will develop a strong understanding of the business, people, products, and customers to
help you develop the right products with your development team to solve the right customer
problems. You will support research and discovery to evaluate product opportunities and
define the requirements to be built to address those opportunities. You must be able to
understand your customers and users and empathise with their problems to develop the
right solutions in collaboration with your team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Ownership
- Define the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the Control Tower Decision
Engine, aligning with Cox Automotive’s pan-European commercial goals.
- Prioritize use cases (e.g., demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, channel allocation) based
on ROI and technical feasibility.
- Balance long-term platform scalability with rapid MVP delivery to meet tight timelines.
2. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Data Scientists to operationalize ML models, ensuring they solve real-world
problems (e.g., “Why is inventory turnover 20% slower in Italy?”).
- Collaborate with Engineering to architect a cloud-native, API-first platform (AWS/Azure)
that scales across 15+ EU markets.
- Work with Service Designers and UX Researchers to translate complex analytics into
intuitive dashboards and alerts for non-technical users.
3. Stakeholder Alignment
- Act as the “voice of the engine” to senior leadership, translating technical capabilities into
board-ready value propositions.
- Build trust with OEMs and dealers through demos, workshops, and co-creation sessions
(e.g., “How can our engine reduce your excess stock by 30%?”).
- Navigate regulatory complexities (GDPR, PSD2) with Legal & Compliance teams to ensure
data ethics and privacy by design.
4. Data-Driven Execution
- Define KPIs that measure both platform performance (e.g., model accuracy, API latency)
and business outcomes (e.g., dealer retention, revenue uplift).
- Use A/B testing and user feedback to refine features, ensuring insights drive action (e.g.,
“How do we nudge dealers to act on low-stock alerts?”).
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Essential
- 5+ years in Product Management, with 3+ years focused on AI/ML-driven platforms or B2B
data products (SaaS, automotive, fintech, or supply chain preferred).
- Proven track record shipping products that leverage predictive analytics, real-time data, or
decision automation.
- Technical fluency: Ability to collaborate with data scientists on model pipelines (Python,
PyTorch) and engineers on API design (REST/gRPC).
- Expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira, Productboard).
- Deep understanding of EU data privacy laws and multi-market compliance.
Desired
- Experience with automotive ecosystems (OEMs, dealerships, auctions) or marketplace
platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud AI/ML services (SageMaker, Vertex AI) and BI tools (Tableau, Power
BI).
- MBA or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
