We have partnered on an exclusive basis with a leading solicitor’s firm based in Blackburn, who are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Support Engineer to support and enhance their IT infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless technology operations that support legal professionals in delivering high-quality services nationwide.
Job Summary:
As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of our technology systems. You will provide hands-on and remote support to end-users, helping them resolve technical challenges efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware including printers, software, and network issues.
* Respond to and resolve IT support requests via ticketing system, email, phone, or in person.
* Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
* Support and administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other enterprise applications.
* Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights following security best practices.
* Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patch management.
* Collaborate with IT team members on projects such as system upgrades and cloud migrations.
* Maintain detailed documentation of IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer, IT Technician, or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
* Advanced knowledge with Outlook and plug ins.
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.
* Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and ticketing systems.
* Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
* Experience within a law firm (desirable not essential).
