We have an exciting, newly created role in The Cinnamon Care Collection!
Reporting to the Head of Care & Quality, we are looking to recruit an experienced dementia specialist who will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dementia care across all Cinnamon Homes. This role aligns with CCC's vision of providing the highest standards of dementia care. The Dementia Lead will act as a champion for dementia care, ensuring residents, their families, and the wider CCC team receive the support, training, and guidance required to create a compassionate and enriching environment.
The Dementia Lead is expected to remain knowledgeable and up to date with the latest best practices in dementia care. At all times, this role will embody and adhere to the Cinnamon Dementia Strategy, driving its vision and values across all Homes.
The role will involve travel between all our care homes with overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver in-house dementia training, building confidence and expertise, and ensuring alignment with the company's Dementia Vision.
2. Ensure we have in place dementia champions for each community, with quarterly meetings and a support network.
3. Provide support and guidance for the Management teams in addressing incidents relating to distress behavior that require Safeguarding/CQC notifications.
4. Assist the teams in supporting relatives with their loved one's dementia journey.
5. Support the activities team in dementia care communities to ensure meaningful engagement for residents.
Person Specification:
1. Knowledge of the social care regulatory framework.
2. Extensive experience in dementia care and management within care home settings.
3. Proven track record of coaching, mentoring, and leading dementia care teams.
4. To have or willingness to work towards recognised dementia qualifications.
5. To have or willingness to work towards recognised dementia observational tools such as Dementia care mapping.
