An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Front Door Team as a Social Worker. This is a 14-hour post.
The post requires an individual who has a sound knowledge of Social Work practice, legislation, and its related statutory responsibilities along with an understanding of the available local resources and systems.
Working with colleagues in the local authority, health economy, and voluntary sector, we aim to maximise the independence of individuals using a strength-based approach.
As a Social Worker on the team, you will receive and manage incoming referrals for adults with a varied range of needs. You will be working under the framework of the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act along with other appropriate legislation and guidance.
With a focus on relationship-based social work, you will be working in partnership with adults, carers, and partner agencies, promoting a strengths-based approach, empowering people to achieve their outcomes, whilst ensuring the adults are at the centre of everything we do.
This requires accurately maintaining client records alongside strong report writing and communication skills.
You will be supported with regular supervision, peer support, and critical reflection. Work can be varied, and there are opportunities within the local authority to develop and specialise in your chosen area of social work in line with continuing professional development.
We welcome applications from Social Workers qualifying this year and support ASYE. Furthermore, any social workers who wish to transition from other areas will receive support.
We support hybrid working and have flexible working policies in place to support your wellbeing. You will be joining a supportive team with a diverse mix of workers.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and we expect all our employees and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Please note that if an employee who is currently at risk of redundancy within the organisation applies for this vacancy, their application will receive priority. If this happens, you will be advised accordingly.
