We are currently recruiting for an Estimator to join our company on a permanent basis in Gloucester.
The company:
Our client is a main contractor that works in both the domestic and commercial sectors.
The role entails:
1. Assessing the Client's requirements.
2. Reviewing project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, materials needed, and labour requirements.
3. Working closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that estimates are accurate.
4. Conducting site visits to gather necessary information.
5. Measuring quantities and preparation of the bill of quantities using specialized software and industry-standard methods.
6. Preparing and sending out subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
7. Analysing and interpreting subcontractor proposals to ensure the Client's requirements are met.
8. Identifying risks, opportunities, and making informed decisions about pricing and profitability.
9. Preparation of preliminaries for tender adjudication.
10. Ensuring key issues are presented at the tender adjudication.
11. Preparing and ensuring tender submissions are evaluated and submitted in accordance with client's requirements.
12. Carrying out post-tender return negotiations with the Client team.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 3 years construction estimating experience.
2. Knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and materials.
3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
4. Good communication and negotiation skills.
5. Professionally qualified, preferably in a construction-related field or equivalent proven ability and experience in a similar role.
6. Proficient computer skills, particularly in Conquest estimating software and Excel.
7. Hold a full UK driving license.

8.30am - 5pm
