Senior Geospatial Engineer Senior Geospatial Engineer Remote Working 6 months (initially) c£450 per day (Outside IR35) The Opportunity: We are looking for a skilled and innovative Senior Geospatial Engineer to join an exciting and forward-thinking assignment, working on cutting-edge geospatial and 3D visualisation technology for a leading central government department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-impact project in the geospatial tech space, contributing to innovative and data-rich solutions in a flexible working environment, so if you’re passionate about geospatial technology and immersive experiences, we want to hear from you Skills and Experience: Strong experience with geospatial libraries and platforms such as MapLibre, MapTiler and CesiumJS. Hands-on experience with real-time 3D engines like Unreal or Godot. Solid web development skills with a focus on responsive design and mobile usability. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ceremonies (Scrum, stand-ups, sprint planning). Understanding of application security and experience implementing fixes from penetration tests. Proven track record of working independently in remote/distributed teams. Role and Responsibilities: Design and develop features using geospatial technologies including MapLibre, MapTiler and CesiumJS. Build rich and interactive functionality using gaming engines such as Godot or Unreal Engine. Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with the team to align on project objectives and sprint planning. Provide accurate time estimates for development tasks and deliver quality code within agreed timelines. Develop responsive, mobile-friendly web interfaces to ensure a seamless user experience across devices. Tune performance of both applications and databases based on feedback from testing and monitoring tools. Apply security remediations in response to penetration test outcomes, ensuring secure code delivery. Adhere to established quality standards and development best practices, contributing to a high-performing delivery team. NB: Candidates must be eligible for BPSS security clearance which will processed following successful interviews (7-10 days).
