Senior Creative Strategist
Function: Brand & Creative | Performance Creative | Acquisition Strategy
Responsibility: Directing our performance creative process to ensure we are exceeding our paid media new customer acquisition targets and expanding our addressable audience through core channels of Meta and TikTok.
Reports to: Head of Growth
Location: Hybrid/flexible - London (Bridge) based office with WFH split.
Compensation: £50,000-60,000 (experience dependent)

Background:
JAQ Group is one of the UK's leading and fastest-growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce groups comprised of 4 (soon to be 5) brands. In the past 12 months, we’ve grown over 100% YoY with The Essence Vault, our primary brand, being a key driver.
Due to recent growth, we’re building our internal creative division to support future efficient growth across our media mix. Reporting to our Head of Growth, our Senior Creative Strategist will be an integral part of the performance creative process, managing output across internal resources and external agency partners to ensure we hit new customer acquisition targets. You will be responsible for managing our creative production processes from research, through production and post-production, to our ad accounts.
We’re looking for an individual with a wealth of experience across Meta & TikTok, who has a proven track record of creating consistently high-performing direct-response paid ads. With a high level of proficiency across DTC creative best practices for static assets, UCG and high-production content.
You’ll be reporting to our Head of Growth, and able to take full control of our existing creative process to direct resources and budgets across our brands and will be an integral part of our internal creative department's growth.
Main Accountabilities:
Research
* Staying up to date with advertising trends, techniques and best practices
* Continuously analyzing direct and indirect competitor ads to identify opportunities for our campaigns
* Researching the demographics, interests, pain points, and behaviours of our brands’ target audience
* Create and keep up to date a compendium of research for each brand
* Create and keep up to date a compendium of branding constraints, wording constraints and creative learnings.
Ideation
* Generating unique and effective advertising New Concepts for our brands
* Using direct response copywriting techniques to produce Angles
* Ability to recognise successful concepts and devise a strategy to systematically experiment with variations of them
* Understand and use different ad formats where appropriate (static, video, carousel, stories, etc)
* Storyboarding ad concepts and presenting them to our Head of Growth and Post Production Team in a document.
* Extracting ideas from other team members to build concepts that can work for ad campaigns
Creation
* To work closely with the Head of Growth to ensure that the upcoming brand targets are in line with the upcoming Ad Plans
* Bringing concepts to life by turning our Ad Ideas backlog into active briefs on our ClickUp task management software
* Turning Angles into Ad Copy, Content Creator Scripts,, Landing Page Copy using direct response copywriting techniques
* Project managing the execution of Ad Creatives in Sprints (2 Week Cycles), ensuring each individual within our broader team has enough briefs to work on at any point in time.
* Briefing Content Creators to produce assets from our network and providing feedback to them to improve future briefs or reshoot if the assets were clearly below standard and did not hit the brief.
* Developing quick iterations of winning assets to support consistent performance using ad account metrics (TSR, CTR, Hold Rate, Etc.)
* Briefing our Post Production Team to turn raw assets into Ad Creatives in video and image format that are ready for launch in our campaigns.
* Reviewing Ad Creatives to ensure they meet Brand Guidelines and meet the standard of what you were expecting from the brief.
* To ensure there is sufficient capacity and resources available within the team (or across external agencies) to execute our sprints.
* Working within a monthly budget for asset production that is managed by our Head of Growth.
Analysis
* Using performance metrics from the advertising platforms alongside input from our Head of Growth to understand what concepts are working and what we should test next.
* Complete creative reports that we present in our weekly creative calls.
* To share insights on what is working with other team members.
Success in 6 months:
* Developed winning ad creatives that achieve measurable performance improvements (e.g., increased CTR, ROAS, or lower CAC).
* Provided actionable insights from creative performance data, influencing iterative ad improvements.
* Successfully led or contributed to brainstorming sessions, generating innovative ideas aligned with campaign goals.
* Delivered 4-5 standout creative concepts or executions that significantly outperformed benchmarks.
Success in 12 months:
* Supported in streamlining the ad creative ideation and briefing process, reducing turnaround times without compromising quality.
* Unlocked new creative formats, approaches or angles that expand the brand’s testing playbook.
* Demonstrated deep knowledge of the target audience, ensuring creative aligns with their needs, motivations, and behaviours.
* Guided team members in using creative data to inform strategies, fostering a performance-driven culture.
* Delivered 10+ standout creative concepts or executions that significantly outperformed benchmarks.

Experience & skills:
* A deep understanding of what drives sales on paid social advertising and general knowledge of how ecommerce businesses work and how they generate revenue
* Strong visual storytelling skills + proficiency in copywriting for short and long-form direct response
* Ability to clearly articulate creative concepts through written, verbal and visual communication
* Creative mindset with the ability to take inspiration from anywhere - not just competitor ads
* Knowledge of production and post-production processes
* A basis level of data analysis and an ability to make data-driven decisions
* Understands research methods and tools that can be used for understanding consumers and generating ad concepts
* A basic understanding of how media buying works on Meta and Tiktok
* A passion for staying current with industry trends and best practices
* An interest in creativity within the advertising industry
* A deep understanding of consumer psychology
* An ability to understand the mindset of different customer avatars
* Can work with cross-functional Creative and Growth teams that contain both left and right-brain thinkers
* Strong leadership and direction abilities

* 1+ years of experience writing Direct Response adverts (1+ years writing Direct Response emails may also be considered)
