An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Wellbeing Service of Birmingham City Council for a Leisure Supervisor who is passionate about the health and wellbeing of the local residents, has excellent customer service skills and can lead a team to provide the best quality service possible.
Saltley Wellbeing Centre is part of the Birmingham City Council Wellbeing Service that provides free opportunities for the residents of Birmingham to improve their health and wellbeing through exercise and wellbeing activities. Saltley Wellbeing Centre consists of a gym, indoor sports hall, community room, outdoor all-weather pitch, and changing rooms and toilets.
As Leisure Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering the day-to-day operational management, administration, promotion, and development of the Wellbeing Service at Saltley Wellbeing Centre and ensuring the health and safety of staff, customers, and partners.
You will be proactive and able to work very well on your own and lead the Saltley Wellbeing Centre team to provide the best quality service possible.
We are continually looking to improve the service we provide; this role is pivotal in this aim and we need a Senior Leisure Assistant with the passion and drive to achieve this aim.
Key Requirements:
* Possess a current First Aid at Work Qualification and experience in dealing with first aid incidents.
* Experience of working within a leisure facility.
* Experience in managing a diverse team to ensure they perform at their best at all times.
* Experience of working within specified financial procedures.
* Experience of managing people to include employee safety, welfare, and discipline.
* Working knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation, including undertaking risk assessments.
* Experience of working within and implementing HR policies and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good listener and communicator who can effectively convey information at an appropriate level with good interpersonal skills.
* Excellent knowledge of managing sport and leisure facilities with a view to providing excellent customer service.
* Ability to work in a pressurized environment and manage competing priorities while delivering on set tasks and adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
* Computer literate and able to perform computer-based tasks.
* Goal-driven leader who maintains a productive climate and confidently motivates, mobilizes, and coaches employees to meet high-performance standards.
