Our client is a marine services provider focused on ship repair/maintenance. They are looking for several 'Project Managers', moreover those with strong technical/engineering skills and some commercial experience. Engineering experience is essential and work as a Technical Superintendent would be of benifit. All positions will be based in Middlesbrough. Salary £40-45k pending on experience. Key Responsibilities To manage the day-to-day activity on a Ship repair project. To drive productivity and efficiency To coordinate all production trade disciplines & subcontract supply chain to execute work specifications in a timely and efficient manner. To optimise resourcing levels, monitor performance and outputs To be commercially aware To be able to interpret a technical specification, identify when a variation to the specification arises and to price and submit costs of variations to owner's representative for approval. To control all subcontractor, labour, consumable, and material costs and be responsible and accountable for the project P&L To be accountable for conducting regular inspections of work areas to identify and eliminate any hazardous conditions and practices. To be aware of Company accreditations and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the companies OH&S Management system. Relevant Skills Strong leader, highly organised, ability to motivate and to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. Good working knowledge of Ship repair and or heavy engineering Must be able to prepare detailed variation costs and submit to attending customer representative. Must be able to evaluate sub-contractors and supplier quotations. Must be able to Chair Project Progress Meetings and other meetings as required.
