What you will do
Working alongside the customer, account manager, service and project teams, the Senior Engineer will proactively identify risks and opportunities for the client, helping to shape energy strategies, developing roadmaps for future proofing systems, and providing high level technical support to the project and service teams.
From a static state commission, the controls system and designated plant interfaces will bring the control system and plant to full operation such that it performs according to the project specification and designs.

How you will do it
As part of the prime projects team member, the following key tasks will be performed:
1. Review the project specification and designs and identify any commission or software ability issues with the project manager.
2. Validate assumptions made during solution design. Build a detailed cost estimate and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with Operations.
3. Assist in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents.
4. Work to the project's software and commissioning requirements.
5. Present a positive attitude with the objective of improving customer satisfaction in all areas.
6. Liaise closely with the manager to highlight any operational problems during the course of the work.
7. Use safe systems of working.
8. Ensure factory acceptance tests/checks and commissioning tests are performed and commissioning handover sheets completed. Produce systems handover documentation for the Operating and Maintenance manuals.
9. Keep current accurate records of commissioning progress.
10. Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
11. Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
12. Select materials for assigned projects.
13. Load and commission system and network-level controllers as required.
14. Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors.
15. Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required. Validate complete system function and resolve issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation.
What we look for
Required
1. Valid CSCS site card & SSSTS certified.
2. Excellent verbal and written skills.
3. GCSE “O” level pass grade and/or electrical/electronic NVQ qualifications.
4. Experience in creating/updating graphics and setting workstations and networks into operation is desirable though training will be given.
5. Experienced in configuring controllers and actuators on Ahu’s and terminal units.
6. HVAC knowledge/experience.
7. Experienced in fault finding in electrical starter/controls circuits and the setting into operation of starters and associated rotating plant.
8. Experienced in the operation and setting into operation of variable speed drives.
9. BMS Industry standards protocols.
10. Experience working on small to medium size (£10K to £150K) existing Service projects and small construction site projects.
11. Willingness to travel outside Scotland.
