Job Description This SH&E Lead role will be responsible for the safety, health and environment direction, oversight, support, assistance and collaboration across the Environment & Sustainability (E&S) business unit, covering nine practice areas and 700 employee across the UK&I. The role will report to the SH&E Director for UK&I and work along side other Business Unit SH&E Leads within the Environment, Water and Energy end market. The role scope will include the collaboration E&S leadership, practice area leadership our people working across the business, technical health & safety deliverables, oversight of all technical and field work projects, creation of culture and initiative campaigns, formulating reports, etc. as well as other workstreams to further develop the safety and wellbeing culture within the business. Here’s what you’ll do: Safety Champion: Act as a prominent advocate for health (including wellbeing), safety, and the environment, fostering continuous improvement and innovation to cultivate a mature safety culture. Management Systems Implementation: Collaborate with partner to establish, apply, and enhance health and safety protocols, systems, and procedures. Client Engagement: Engage with and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop the project health and safety approach and oversee its execution. SH&E Promotion: Author, support, feed into, the creation and execution of health and safety initiatives, campaigns, etc. and track results, evaluating program effectiveness. SH&E Advice, Support & Guidance: Offer expert health and safety counsel, assistance, and direction to E&S staff and contractors. One HS&W Team: Collaborate with peers, colleagues and managers to form a cohesive team that respects, supports, and works together towards common goals. Project / Operational Meetings: Participate in, contribute to, and represent AECOM on health and safety matters in project meetings. Reporting: Produce monthly performance reports, reporting to the SH&E Director & E&S Leadership. Developing improvement plans as necessary. Healthy Starts: Aid in reviewing and refining health and safety project deliverables to guarantee successful project initiation and progress. Assurance: Guarantee adherence to and effectiveness of the assurance programme across all projects. Accident Review, Management & Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of all incidents and accidents, ensuring adherence to AECOM polices. Ensure investigations are conducted at the appropriate level, with corrective actions identified and preventive lessons integrated into the project. Come grow with us.
