Job Overview
We are looking for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our innovative team at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, based in Harlow, Essex, United Kingdom. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the acute Inpatient Occupational Therapy Service.
Current Rotations Are 6 Months Within:
* Acute Medicine
* Surgery
* Orthopaedics
* A&E, short stay wards and Frailty
* Palliative Care
* Possible community rotations with our partners in Essex and Hertfordshire
Rotations and place of work may change according to the evolving nature of the integrated pathways across acute and community teams. A flexible and adaptable approach will be necessary to ensure delivery of an excellent OT service across all pathways.
Key Responsibilities
To provide an Occupational Therapy Service for Acute Inpatients at Princess Alexandra Hospital:
* Take responsibility for a specified caseload undertaking assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients referred to the service.
* Work as part of a Multi-disciplinary/Agency team.
* Work as an autonomous professional according to College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the Health Professions Council Regulations.
* Actively participate in Continuing Professional Development and contribute to the development of in-service training.
* Work under the indirect supervision of the senior occupational therapist and carry out clinical and administrative duties.
Qualifications
* BSc / MSc in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registration
Skills
* Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
* Proficient IT skills
* Evidence of continuous practice development
Experience
* Range of clinical student placements
* Placements across acute and community
* Good understanding of a wide range of medical conditions
