Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Deputy Manager : Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safety are maintained. Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Nursery Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the setting. Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of early years practitioners, promoting a positive and professional atmosphere. Assist in the development and implementation of age-appropriate learning plans and activities for children, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ensure the nursery environment is nurturing, safe, and conducive to learning, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Support in recruitment, staff training, and professional development of the team. Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a welcoming and collaborative environment. Manage resources, budgets, and stock effectively to ensure the nursery operates efficiently. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and child protection policies. What We’re Looking For in a Nursery Deputy Manager : Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (required). Previous experience in a childcare setting, ideally with some experience in a managerial or deputy role (not essential). Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passion for providing high-quality care in a homely, nurturing environment. Ability to support and develop a team of practitioners. Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding procedures. Staff Benefits : Full-time hours over 4 or 5 days (shifts can be discussed upon meeting).
