Job summary The Finance Officer is an integral part of Health Education & Improvement Wales finance team and supports the Finance Business Partnering Team by providing financial and administrative support to ensure that that invoices are correctly coded and paid as well as assisting the Finance Business Partners and Assistant Management Accountants with other transaction work to allow accurate reporting, forecasting and decision report to the wider organisation. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job At the core of this role is a strong working relationship with the Finance Business Partnering Team, Finance Accounts Team, Accounts payable and Procurement staff, as well as with other key staff, requiring the job holder to be at the centre of a wide inter-departmental network aimed at maximising value for money through the effective management of a variety of budget allocations from Welsh Government to other NHS organisations, Higher Education Institutions and other key stakeholders. Reporting to the Assistant Management Accountant, the post holder will answer financial queries from staff, suppliers and customers as well as processing financial information accurately and in accordance with procedures in order to provide information to support the Assistant Management Accountants as well as the Finance Business Partners.
