We are working with a local firm of Accountants who are seeking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper into their small friendly team. They require someone to work largely on bookkeeping and VAT, ideally with some payroll experience, primarily for cover in that area, though there may be some ongoing payroll work. Payroll experience is not a necessity, just a bonus. The role is full-time, although, they would consider a slightly reduced hours role for the right candidate. Key responsibilities: Preparation of clients VAT returns from incomplete records General bookkeeping duties for a range of clients, mainly on a quarterly basis with some monthly. Bank reconciliations Some working at client sites to complete bookkeeping and VAT returns Ability to work on own initiative and to budgets Ad hoc payroll duties Benefits: Competitive salary 35 hour working week Part-time hours considered Study support, if required
