The Capital Team in the NHS England Finance and Planning Directorate is now recruiting for a Finance Analyst.
• work closely with government to agree NHS funding;
• decide how to distribute the funding to the different NHS services and parts of England;
• support innovative programmes that improve the care and experience of NHS patients or people using NHS services;
• set out the financial and performance priorities the NHS should be delivering each year;
• report how much the NHS has spent on providing services each year;
• consider how nationally we use these resources to improve healthcare outcomes, reduce inequality, improve health and support the NHS.
As a Finance Analyst, you will support the collection, analysis and reporting of provider sector financial plans and in month returns for both internal and external audiences. The post holder will work closely alongside the Senior Finance Managers and Heads of Capital and Cash to provider advice to colleagues within NHS Providers and NHS England relating to the capital regime, including capital investment business cases and applications for capital cash support. The role is critical to supporting the efficient timely approval and distribution of capital funding to providers aligned to National capital investments, monitoring capital spend against allocations and providing analysis at provider, system or regional levels.
The team offers high profile, fast-paced projects. This requires adaptability, rigor and innovation and provides exciting development opportunities for those developing their careers in the NHS, health or the public sector.

• Excellent experience of creating and working with spreadsheets to support management information ( eg modelling and forecasts)
• Demonstrate capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing to present financial information to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
