Summary of duties:
Geo-environmental desk studies for linear infrastructure projects.
Site reconnaissance, geomorphological mapping and structural assessments.
Ground investigation supervision including logging / sampling to BS5930 / EC7.
Ground model assessment and analysis.
Development of geotechnical parameters for civil design.
Factual and Interpretative report writing.
Geotechnical data analysis, processing and production of mapping.
Office support - project planning, proposal and cost preparation, business development.Necessary Skills:
Relevant geosciences degree (i.e. Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental or Geotechnical Engineering), or working towards gaining BSc/BEng.
Familiar with ArcGIS or QGIS.
Proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g. GeoFine, Slope/w, Holebase) is advantageous.
Practical problem solving abilities and pro-active.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
An interest in developing both technical and project management skills.Other information :
Must have a full UK driving licence and be available to travel to site locations within the UK, and occasionally overseas.
The role includes a 50/50 split between office/working from home and site work. Fieldwork programs can be in remote locations requiring long mobilisations. Our work involves accessing remote areas on foot, and confidence driving off-road
