Location: South Birmingham Salary: Competitive, based on experience Contract: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are seeking a highly organised and proactive School Administrator to join our team in South Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills and experience in a school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's administrative functions, supporting staff, students, and parents. Key Responsibilities: General Administration: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school, including handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence. Attendance & Punctuality: Maintain and monitor student attendance records using SIMS, producing reports and liaising with parents/carers as needed. Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure accurate record-keeping of safeguarding documentation and maintain confidential student files in line with school policies. Reception Duties: Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, providing a friendly and professional service. Finance & Procurement: Assist with placing orders for school supplies, processing invoices, and managing petty cash where required. HR & Recruitment Support: Maintain staff records, coordinate recruitment processes, and assist with DBS checks. Event Coordination: Support the organisation of school events, parents' evenings, and training days. Data Management: Update and maintain SIMS and other school databases to ensure accurate student records. Communication: Draft letters, newsletters, and announcements for parents and stakeholders. Requirements: Previous experience in a school administration role (essential). Proficiency in SIMS and other school management systems (desirable). Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent organisational and time management skills. A proactive and professional approach with strong communication skills.
