Helix Medical Centre in Bishops Stortford is seeking an enthusiastic & proactive receptionist/administrator to join their small, friendly team on a full-time basis. Your normal hours of work are 38 hours per week as follows:
* Tuesday 8am to 6:30pm
* Wednesday 8am to 6:30pm
* Thursday 9am to 7:30pm
* Friday 8am to 6:30pm
Main duties of the job
* Receiving patients, making appointments, and dealing with requests for visits and taking messages.
* Offering general assistance to the surgery team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person, via the telephone or in written communication.
* Receiving, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the surgery including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the surgery team.
* Facilitating effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

Qualifications
* Previous experience within a busy GP practice is essential.
* Good working knowledge of SystmOne clinical system, so you are able to hit the ground running supporting our team, along with our patients.
* Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Have a polite telephone manner along with the ability to deal with sensitive/confidential issues appropriately - remaining calm under pressure.
* A team player.
* Positivity and a robust nature are a must!
* You will be required to cover additional hours for staff holidays and sickness sometimes at short notice, which may include a later finish.
