Upstarts Gymnastics CIO is currently seeking an enthusiastic Level 2 Gymnastics Coach to be Recreational Gymnastics Lead. Working closely with the Director of Coaching to deliver quality gymnastics sessions and administration of the recreational program. This role includes coaching and administration hours.
Reporting to the Director of Coaching, you will work closely together to oversee the running of the club. In the absence of the Director of Coaching, you will be the main point of contact for coaches, parents, and gymnasts.
You will manage all aspects of Recreational Gymnastics, ensuring an appropriate programme of training is in place, which is safe, stimulating, educational, and fun for gymnasts at all levels. You will ensure all coaches understand the programme and deliver coaching to the standard required. You will ensure coaches, trainees, and volunteers are supported through their own personal progression and mentored by an appropriate person.
You will also be responsible for administrative tasks, ensuring communications are responded to in a timely and professional manner. You will need to be computer literate and be able to learn how to use our administrative system.
We are looking for someone energetic and enthusiastic, with a desire to help build and develop the club. As a charity, we are involved in fundraising events and we are looking for someone who would be happy to pitch in. You will need to be organized, with good attention to detail. You should have good written and verbal communication skills and be prepared to have challenging discussions with parents regarding their children's performance.
Initially, we are looking for someone to be in the gym for the following hours:
1. Monday 3.45 - 8.15pm
2. Thursday 3.45 - 6.15pm
3. Friday 3.45 - 8.45pm
With additional hours for absence cover, and potential to build the hours to include Tuesday evening and Saturday morning or afternoon.
As well as the coaching hours, the administration work is paid as five hours a week; this is expected to be spread over the week as necessary to cover routine emails and daily planning. In the long term, there may be scope to increase the number of coaching hours.
