We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HM The Mount, a category C training prison built on the site of a former RAF station on the outskirts of Bovingdon village, Hertfordshire.
In this role, you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours:
Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:30 (37.5 hrs per week).
You will receive an annual salary of up to £43,534 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service.
* Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison services needs.
* Deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience required:
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* A driving licence is essential for this role.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
Job responsibilities
As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group, you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.
You will:

* Deliver non-judgmental care within the scope of professional standards, involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.

* Promote best practice, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
* Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation, and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team is appropriately informed.
