What you need to know about the job:
When there isn’t an overnight care package available, you’ll be working evening shifts for at least four consecutive evenings and alternate weekends. This ensures you're never without work, while also providing you the flexibility to plan ahead. You’ll have a steady schedule that balances your professional commitments with your personal life, giving you the stability and peace of mind you deserve.
Evening routines: Ensuring clients settle in comfortably, assisting with light housekeeping, preparing meals, prompting bedtime medication, supporting with personal care such as washing or changing, and helping them get ready for a peaceful night.
Night routines: During your shift, you may be required to offer reassurance to your client, provide refreshments if requested, assist with bathroom visits, help with personal care, etc.
During a ‘Waking Night’, we request that families provide a comfy chair or a sofa to allow you time to rest while your client sleeps. If at any point throughout the night you have any questions or concerns, you will have full access to a 24/7 office helpline, where a member of our on-call team can assist you.
What you can look forward to:
* Competitive Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour (as of April 2025).
* Travel Time and Mileage: Your travel time between clients is covered at a rate of £11.44 per hour, plus an additional 35p per mile to cover petrol costs.
* Career Development: You’ll have the chance to be enrolled in the Level 1 & 2 Health and Social Care qualification after completing your probation period. There are no tuition fees, and you’ll be allocated a personal tutor. All studies for this qualification will be carried out in your own time.
* Training: Expect a comprehensive training programme, including both in-person and cloud-based training courses to help you thrive in this career. Bonus – all training will be paid at a rate of £11.44 per hour.

Qualifications
What we are looking for…
* Ability to work both evening and night shifts, non-negotiable. Preferably at least four consecutive evening shifts including alternate weekends (4:00pm – 10:00pm) and 2-4 overnight shifts (10:00pm – 8:00am).
* A valid driving licence and access to a car, with business insurance.
* Experience in care isn’t necessary but will be an advantage.
* A DBS registered in the Update Service is a plus.
* Unfortunately, sponsorship opportunities are not available. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
