Responsibilities:
* Operationally manage project or programme controls work to deliver defined objectives.
* Deliver your scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory, and process controls, with deep technical knowledge and broad business experience.
* Select systems and tools appropriate for the work, develop and implement project-specific processes and procedures.
* Develop and grow the service capability, contributing to the delivery of client account plans.
* Oversee an agreed scope of work including the workload of a team or contractors; ensuring allocated work is completed/resources are fully utilized to deliver against an agreed programme of work.
* Work within established systems to independently produce schedules and cost plans, tracking and managing budgets, highlighting variances to produce management information.
* Deliver a number of small to medium scale project or programme controls work, ensuring appropriate use of resources and budgets to deliver the required scope of work within set deadlines.
* Present any project risks or issues to senior managers to ensure the project is not adversely impacted, ensuring delivery of project controls is compliant with standards.
* Provide advice to colleagues surrounding behaviours to ensure adherence to internal and external compliance processes.
* Analyse and review a range of data to identify key existing and emerging themes and trends, providing recommendations that support project decision-making.
* Use knowledge and experience of industry best practice to review and analyse project controls processes and policies, providing insightful recommendations for improvement.
* Interact effectively and proactively across the organisation, seeking to develop ways to support collaboration and ensure project/programme controls meet internal customer expectations.
* Advise senior management on issues relating to project controls, providing subject matter advice to support successful delivery in line with project objectives and strategies.
* Liaise and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure all parties are informed of project progress and expectations.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Previous experience in a Rail sector environment.
* Relevant business experience across multiple sectors.
* Management of small to medium-sized projects (core sized projects) and experience in major projects and programmes.
* Commercial acumen and the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders.
* Expert level expertise in service capability.
* Knowledge of own community managed and an understanding of service and business lines.
* Experience in managing business relationships at management level.
* Relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
