The Principal/Senior Engineer will oversee the integration of the power unit into the power module, ensuring compatibility with all related systems. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing technical requirements, and guaranteeing that engine integration meets performance, safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the integration of the power unit into the power module, ensuring compatibility with all related systems.
* Manage power unit Systems Engineering requirements, subsystem breakdown, internal interface management.
* Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for power unit integration activities.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
Technical Expertise
* Serve as the technical point of contact for power unit integration, providing expertise on power unit systems, calibration, and control strategies.
* Collaborate with power unit development teams to define integration requirements and specifications.
* Oversee the design and validation of power unit mounts, cooling and lubrication systems, and other components involved in power unit integration.
Testing and Validation
* Develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans for power unit integration, including dynamometer testing, power module testing, and durability assessments.
* Monitor and analyze test data to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
* Identify and resolve integration issues, working closely with design and testing teams to implement solutions.
Salary
$120,000 - $180,000 per year
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in engine systems engineering, powertrain integration, or a related field within the automotive or aerospace industry.
* Knowledge of engine systems, air compressors, or gensets.
* Proficiency in using CAD software, engine simulation tools, and data analysis would be useful.
