If you have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE), Arqivas role as a Corporate & Commercial Lawyer offers an exciting blend of responsibilities. Youll work across Media & Broadcast, Utilities, and Technology, advising on product development, commercial contracts, and customer relationships. Plus, youll collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage external lawyers.
The role:
1. Legal Partnership and Advice: Youll be the go-to legal contact for Corporate and Commercial stakeholders, including Media & Broadcast, Smart Utilities Networks, and Procurement. Providing legal advice and support, youll contribute to product development, commercial contracts, and customer-supplier relationships.
2. Customer Journey Support: From bid to contract to delivery, youll guide customer relationships. Your legal insights will ensure smooth interactions.
3. Risk Assessment and Pragmatic Advice: Analysing risks within the commercial context, youll offer timely, practical, and commercially sound legal advice.
4. Collaboration and Relationships: Building strong internal and external relationships is key. Youll liaise with colleagues across various business areas, fostering effective collaboration.
5. Regulatory Guidance: Youll provide regulatory advice and work with the Regulatory team on consultations as needed.
6. Process Improvement and Team Support: Contribute to process enhancements, training, and development initiatives. Manage external lawyers during disputes and support fellow Legal team members.
The person:
1. Qualifications: You should be qualified to practice as a lawyer in England and Wales.
2. Commercial Contract Experience: Familiarity with technology, telecommunications, and procurement/supply chain contracting (including SaaS or PaaS) is advantageous.
3. Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong legal drafting and negotiating abilities are essential.
4. Intellectual Property: Understanding intellectual property rights and applying them to new technologies is valuable.
5. Business-Focused Advice: Experience providing solution-oriented advice considering commercial context.
6. Curiosity and Innovation: An interest in and curiosity about new technologies and enthusiasm for innovation.
7. Data Protection Knowledge: Understanding data protection law is beneficial.
8. Cross-Jurisdictional Exposure: Exposure to different legal systems is a plus.
