My client is looking to recruit an experienced Application Support professional to lead and manage the Application and Database Administration teams. ensuring seamless application performance and delivery of innovative solutions.
About the Role: As the Applications Support Team Leader, you will oversee the management of application and database services, ensuring availability, performance, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborating with internal teams and external service providers, you will drive process improvement, manage resource allocation, and lead service integration efforts.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing the day-to-day operations of application support and database teams.
* Implementing IT service management best practices and ensuring system performance meets business needs.
* Driving proactive patch management and monitoring of application activity.
* Collaborating with stakeholders to develop strategies for application and data management.
* Leading a team by fostering growth, conducting performance reviews, and developing talent.
* Managing supplier relationships and quality-assuring service delivery.
* Overseeing budget allocation and contributing to strategic planning.
Technically, the Application Support Team Leader will possess the following :
* Proven experience in IT service management and leading application/database support teams.
* Strong technical knowledge of client/server applications, databases, and Microsoft technologies including Windows and Web based applications (M365, Oracle, SQL).
* Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Experience managing budgets and working with external suppliers.
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles.
* Experience with Azure technologies and cloud database solutions.
* ITIL V4 Foundation certification.
This role requires a degree or equivalent experience and flexibility for on-call participation. A driving license and ability to travel to various sites are also necessary
