We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust.We are looking to appoint a reliable and committed member of the lunchtime team to provide care, guidance and support for our children during the lunch break. This role requires someone who will promote and support a range of active play opportunities. Also someone who will ably assist in the preparation, serving and clearing up of refreshments with due regard to health & safety in food preparation and an awareness of school’s healthy school status and policy.The person will need to work collaboratively and respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of the children. Most of all they will need to maintain a positive attitude and enjoy being with children … even at wet playtimes!As a Playworker you will be responsible to:Supervise and escort children to play areas safely, ensuring they have their belongings.Assist in planning and delivering activities that support children's development (intellectual, physical, social, emotional, etc.).Promote good behavior and handle conflicts or incidents in line with school policies.Help prepare and serve refreshments, following health and safety guidelines.Set up and clean equipment, encouraging children’s independence.Maintain attendance registers and ensure children leave with the designated adult.Report incidents, accidents, and any issues concerning discipline or safety to the Play Leader or Headteacher.Keep logs of accidents and disciplinary actions.Assist with maintaining supplies and materials for activities.Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support children's welfare and safety.What You’ll Bring to FuturaWe are looking for an passionate and dynamic Playworker with:Proficiency in literacy and numeracy (GCSE level or equivalent).NVQ2 in Playwork or Early Years Care & Education (or equivalent experience).Experience working with children in a school or related environment.Ability to work collaboratively in a team.Good communication, administration, and organizational skills.Empathetic, approachable, and positive attitude towards children.Understanding of children’s welfare needs, particularly during midday breaks.Willingness to undertake further training (e.g., NVQ2 in Playwork).Enhanced DBS check required.
