Science Intervention Specialist - Full-Time Role in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is excited to announce an opportunity for a Science Intervention Specialist at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time role, commencing in January and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of being made permanent based on performance. The role offers a competitive pay range of £419.25 to £500 per week.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about science who want to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. As a Science Intervention Specialist, you will provide targeted support to students, enabling them to develop their understanding and confidence in science subjects.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver Tailored Interventions: Plan and conduct small group and one-to-one sessions for students requiring additional support in biology, chemistry, or physics.
* Identify Areas for Development: Work collaboratively with subject teachers to identify gaps in students' knowledge and develop effective intervention strategies.
* Support Curriculum Understanding: Reinforce key scientific concepts and skills to help students stay on track with the curriculum.
* Exam Preparation: Provide focused support to students in preparation for assessments and exams, emphasizing exam techniques and subject comprehension.
* Build Student Confidence: Foster a positive learning environment to encourage engagement and enthusiasm for science.
* Monitor and Report Progress: Regularly assess and track students' progress, providing feedback to both staff and parents as required.
* Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers and other support staff to align interventions with classroom learning and overall school objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
* Strong Science Background: A degree in a science-related field or substantial experience demonstrating expertise in biology, chemistry, or physics.
* Educational Experience: Previous experience supporting students, particularly in a school or educational setting, is highly desirable.
* Passion for Science: A commitment to inspiring students and helping them achieve their best in science subjects.
* Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to convey complex scientific ideas in an accessible and engaging manner.
* Organised and Adaptable: Strong planning and organisational skills, with the flexibility to adjust teaching approaches to suit individual student needs.
