We seek someone with proven aseptic skills and experience dispensing clinical trial medications. Main duties of the job
To perform a range of organisational, supervisory and dispensing functions in order to provide efficient and quality clinical technical services to wards and clinics within the Trust, with a particular focus on clinical trial activities.
Duties will be predominantly concerned with the organisation and direct supervision of clean room staff and activities; including assembly, preparation and dispensing of sterile and often complex clinical trial products, including cytotoxics.
Stock control, clerical duties and supportive clinical trials activities are also assigned to this post.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* HNC or BTEC in Applied Science or Food Science & Technology (or equivalent)
* NVQ 2 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
* NIHR Fundamentals Of Clinical Research For Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) Management (or other Good Clinical Practice IMP module)
* NVQ 3 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
Experience
* Recent experience working in Pharmacy Aseptic Services within NHS hospital or commercial sector (or equivalent)
* Substantial, evidenced, practical experience of aseptic dispensing of medicines and working in clean rooms. To include clinical trials or other complex aseptically prepared products.
* Independent supervision of staff and work activities.
* Independent planning and organising of workloads, allocation of work to staff.
* Checking materials, weights, volumes and measures.
* Understanding of a wide range of work procedures and practices, requiring use of good theoretical knowledge gained from experience.
* Liaising with staff from a wide range of other departments
* Substantial experience of dispensing of clinical trials (aseptic or non-aseptic)
* Substantial experience of NHS/commercial pharmacy aseptic services
Knowledge
* The application of Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Assurance Systems.
* Health and Safety in the Workplace.
* Maintaining clean and hygienic work environments.
* Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP)
* Knowledge of stock control systems.
* Pharmaceutical Science.
