Role: Residential Support Worker
Location: Headington, Oxfordshire.
Salary: Up to £26,100.00 per annum
Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time - 37 hours a week, with a 2-week rolling rota drawn up in advance with every 2nd weekend off. Shifts are 7.30-14.50 and 14.00 - 21.30.

About the Service:
Viking House is an overnight 6 bedded short break residential service, suitable for children and young people up to the age of 18 years of age with physical and/or learning disabilities, to include complex health and behavioural care needs.
You will be supporting the children with their day-to-day personal needs. Working with your team and the children to assess individual needs to develop tailored care plans. You will help to maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and children within the home and whilst out and about in the community.

Their proactive approach to risk manage and safeguard our young people's wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement, they'll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
In the role as Residential Support Worker, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager, Service Coordinator and Teams Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for the young person.
What you will be doing:
* Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
* Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
* Attending professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
* Being resilient in supporting the young people through challenging situations.
Let's talk about you, ideally you will have:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust
* Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
* Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
* Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
* Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
