About The Role Environmental Advisor 28 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday Pension scheme Life Assurance Company car / car allowance and fuel card Milestone Infrastructure Ltd is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor to wo rk on our Somerset Infrastructure Alliance contract at Hinkley Point C. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Environment Team at Milestone Infrastructure, with opportunities to develop yourself and progress within a dynamic and innovative organisation. As the environmental advisor you will be responsible for the environmental management of construction projects and supporting the delivery of the ambitious carbon and sustainability targets of our clients. As the Environmental Advisor your duties & responsibilities will be: Implement the requirements of Milestone’s Integrated Management System “MIMS” at a project level to meet the requirements of 14001, Develop, implement, and monitor Construction Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans and other subject specific environmental management plans to maintain compliance with legislation and contract requirements. Provide technical advice, direction, support and assistance to key internal and external stakeholders to enable them to manage their environmental duties and responsibilities. Liaise with Clients and Regulators, and assist with the obtaining of legal consents, licenses, and exemptions. Monitor compliance with environmental consents, licenses, and exemptions. Support operational teams in the production of internal and external reports. Lead on environmental incident investigations, and support and advise on corrective actions. Assist in the development and delivery of suitable environmental and sustainability training for all project staff. Carry out internal and external audits of Milestone Projects/Contracts and our supply chain. Measure, manage and reduce carbon associated with Milestone’s projects as part of an integrated delivery team Represent and promote the Environment Enabling Function in internal and external meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums – communicating best practice standards and initiatives. Skills & Knowledge Requirements Demonstrable passion for the Environment and Sustainability, driving innovation and an ability and desire to positively influence and develop those around them. Relevant experience in the construction industry or environmental experience in a similar sector. Professional membership of IEMA (or equivalent) at the appropriate level. A proven track record of delivering positive outcomes working with external stakeholders and client organisations.
