Architect (Aviation) - Industry Leading Work Life Balance
Location: Blackfriars, London (Hybrid: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote)
Salary: £39,000 - £48,000 per annum
We are seeking an Architect with expertise in aviation or large-scale infrastructure projects to join our client's team based in Blackfriars, London. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to delivering complex aviation projects in the UK and the Middle East, working across all RIBA stages from concept to completion. The role involves project participation, technical coordination, and client liaison. You will ensure the successful delivery of design solutions, manage project documentation, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers a blend of hands-on design work and strategic oversight.
The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of architectural design in the aviation sector. You will contribute to project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition to your technical expertise, you will work closely with clients and external stakeholders to meet their needs while adhering to project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the delivery of aviation projects through all RIBA Plan of Work stages (0-7), ensuring technical accuracy and design excellence.
* Act as a key point of contact for project work packages, providing support and direction.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, including structure, MEP services, specialist systems, and interior elements.
* Prepare and manage project documentation, including planning and building control applications.
* Ensure compliance with project requirements, legal standards, and client objectives.
* Assist with internal design reviews, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, coordinated outputs.
* Contribute to project resources and profit targets, maintaining an audit trail for key decisions and risk management.
* Support business development efforts by contributing to bids, tenders, and marketing initiatives.
Skills and Experience:
* Solid technical knowledge with a proven track record of delivering aviation or large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of UK construction methods, building regulations, and industry best practices.
* Proficiency in Revit is essential.
* Site experience, including managing construction phases and resolving on-site challenges.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage client relationships.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing priorities while maintaining quality and deadlines.
* ARB registration is required.
